Well it's been over 10 years since I wrote this.  It came together after someone as close as my brother from a different mother passed away.  It's a very sad story and I'll try to explain.  This is the first time I ever said a word or allowed anyone to listen to this song.  Even now, I still well up and start crying when I hear it.

I was born in Arkansas and my best friend Jim, Win, and Ken have always lived close to each other.  Me and my mother moved to Clinton Mississippi then they moved there.  We moved to Jackson and they moved there.  We literally grew up together and were like family.

I joined the military in 84 and when I finished boot camp and technical school.  I came back to see them.  Just before I retired, I got the full story.  When Ken had his first sexual experience, he contracted the Aids virus.  I never found out he had aids until after he passed away.  I didn't know he'd passed away until a couple of months afterwards and that's when I started putting this together for him.  i had parts of this song written as far back as 1989 but didn't finish it until after I found out Ken had passed away.  I vowed not to release it at all until 10 years had passed.  I hope you like it.
